So…I’ll most likely include many of the outfits that I wear from day to day. I truly enjoy dressing up, yet my outfit planning skills could certainly improve. For instance, I usually wake up quite early for my 9:20 a.m. class (around two hours or so before class), take a shower, and complete some unfinished homework from the previous evening. I tend to start choosing out what to wear at approximately 8:50, giving myself twenty minutes to decide on an outfit, change, put on a teensy bit of makeup and lock the door to my dorm. And one more thing, I am also one of the most indecisive people I know which makes the outfit selection process quite cumbersome. Needless to say, seeing my breathless self walk into the classroom at 9:25 is not unusual.
Back to the main purpose of this post.
Yesterday I discovered that there is a thrift store in town that I hadn’t yet heard of. This news excited me so much that I decided to drive to the store after my classes were over despite the fact that snow blanketed the ground and ice slicked the roads. I figured that I could use a break before I began my various schooling ventures for the evening, so risking my life didn’t seem to be too much of a problem to me. The first clothing article that I came across at the store was this dress. My true enjoyment dress became apparent when I decided to wear it this morning without previously washing it (but I did get around to taking the preexisting shoulder pads out). Luckily, I don’t think I received any questionable glances from my classmates, so hopefully the smell wasn’t too evident. Although the picture is a tad distorted (thank you photo booth!), the dress actually exhibits simple white lines sprinkled across a black backdrop. Pearl button closures pin the a-symmetrical collar down and I found the puffed sleeves to be a nice touch to an already sweet dress. I decided to go with a punch of color to offset the monochrome-ness that was happening with the dress and found that these pastel mint tights did the trick. The quality of these tights are incredible; I never fear snagging them or creating holes as I nonchalantly (verging on carelessly) tug them over my legs. I figured a basic, woven, brown belt would cinch in my waist nicely and threw on the cotton vest to bring more dimension to the outfit. The simple booties were protective enough for the snow, so I deemed myself ready to go…at 9:15.
Any tips on how to improve my time-management skills?
Thanks!
